Auckland's Magic Factory play late 60s / early 70s country rock n roll and feature members of Bloodbags, Demiwhores, The DHDFDs, Drab Doo Riffs, Raw Nerves and Vietnam War. Together for just over a year, their debut album Working With Gold isan unashamed mix of familiar sounds and influences, including Creedance Clearwater Revival, ZZ Top and Dr. Hook.
Magic Factory’s live shows are already legendary, packing out the Kings Arms Tavern for 95bFM’s Fancy New Band, Wine Cellar for bStreet, Whammy for the album release and Memphis Made Brewery as part of Gonerfest #14. The Rolling Stones spent six months tracking Exile on Main Street in the South of France, Magic Factory spent one sweaty afternoon attempting to do the same thing in a living room in Glenfield. Working with Gold is out on 1:12 Records. Let Magic Factory take you on a sweet, sweet ride...
